Bali in Indonesia is one of the vacation spots beloved of Japanese OLs and college students with money to spend and time to kill.
For the past two years,there have been stories about Japanese women buying the company of guys they meet in Bali,and Shukan Asahi checks out the rumors.

観光地であるインドネシアのバリは日本のOL、大学生から金を使う場所、暇を潰す場所として愛されている。
過去二年、日本人女性がバリで会った男性との関係を買うという話があり、週刊アサヒがこの噂を調査した。

It seems that some men in Bali are just as willing to go along with the deal as the Japanese women,and their objectives are not to nanpa(politely put,“Take advantage of”) these women;it is economic -- this is their job in fact(and it doesn't seem to matter if the partner is a woman or a man).

バリの男性の中には、ただ日本女性のように取引を望む人もいるようで、彼らの目的はこれらの女性をナンパ(行儀よく言えば、利用する)
することではない；これが経済というものだ--事実上これが彼らの仕事である(そして、パートナーが男であるか女であるかは問題ではないようだ)。

One of the young“beach boys” (as they're described) explains what's involved:"First we just have fun; we eat,go to the disco...the girl pays for everything,of course.”
He continues:“They know we don't have any money,so they don't say anything....Sex?
Well,sometimes it goes real well and only takes a day to get,sometimes it can take several.”

ひとつの若い”ビーチボーイズ(彼らの言い方をすれば)”が説明するには、「最初は楽しむだけなんだ。食事をして、ディスコに行って・・・もちろん女の子が全部払うんだ。」
彼はこう続けた「彼女たちは僕らがお金を持ってないのを知ってるからね、何も言わないんだ・・・セックス？
んー、うまくいけば一日でヤれることもあるけど時々数日かかることもあるね」

A beach boy does sometimes have to ask a woman for money.
If he's asked what the money's for,he will just shrug,say he doesn't know,and ask again.
Beach boys say they can clear up to 30,000 yen in a good month.(AJB)
