Beneath those prim office uniforms, behind those demure businesslike smiles, lurk passions that frankly surprise Shukan Gendai.
"Tumultuous" is the word it uses to describe the life it finds seething under the bland surface appearances.

The survey covered female company employees, aged from the teens to the forties.
Sixty percent of respondents have steady partners; 30 percent claim to have had sex with "four to six men;" one boasts a life history of 80 partners.
Of particular interest is that no fewer than 43.3 percent of the 300 have "sex friends" -- sexual partners who are neither husband nor boyfriend.
"For today's OL," infers Shukan Gendai, "a sex friend is becoming indispensible for sexual satisfaction."

"I'd go to my boss' house, telling my husband it was to discuss work," says a 29-year-old employed by a manufacturing company.
"We'd go into his room and, with most of our clothes on, I'd mount him while he sat in his chair.
The big thrill was knowing that his wife was in the next room..."

"There was this party.I was with my boyfriend, and my friend was with hers We were　drinking, and my friend's boyfriend and I - we just had to do it.We were in 'H mode'" - "H" being common slang for sex.
"We went outside, but it was a residential area, no open spaces, no love hotels. Where could we　go? Finally we ended up on the roof of an apartment building..."

Both parties being rather drunk, their initial fumbling attempts at coupling were frustrating failures, but "then the sun rose, and in the fierce glare of the summer sun" they recovered their customary adroitness, and "whenever I recall it," the young woman tells Shukan Gendai, "I get excited."

二人とも結構酔っていたので、かれらの最初の交接しようとする不器用な試みはイライラする失敗に終わったが、「すると太陽が昇り、夏の太陽の激しい眩しさの中で」かれらは普段の機敏さを取り戻し、そして「あのことを思い出すときはいつも、私は興奮します」と、この若い女性は週刊現代にいう。
