Japanese schoolgirls' penchant for peddling panties has sparked a wave of foreign imports, with growing numbers of gaijin gals now getting in on the act, says Hanashi no Channel (12/18).
"Foreigners started selling their panties about a year ago. From about summer last year, you'd see heaps of ads on chat sites with headings like 'How'd you like to smell the aroma of the world?' Most of the ads were posted by women aged 18 to 25. Americans clearly outnumber everybody else, followed by the French, Italians, Germans and Brazilians," adult entertainment industry writer Kenji Fujita tells the bi-weekly. "Of course, there are Orientals from Thailand, China and South Korea who want to sell their panties, too, but by far the most popular sellers are Caucasian blondes."
A quick check of a site known as a place where student prostitutes ply their wares comes up with the following messages, according to the lowbrow magazine:
"I'm a 21-year-old American student. How would you like to buy some panties filled with the fragrance of the West Coast? The price is negotiable, but I'd be really happy if you bought them for at lest 5,000 yen. I'm 175 centimeters tall and a big build, so you'll get more stains than you would from the little Japanese girls."
A 24-year-old French woman apparently writes:
"We French like to shower, but do not bathe as often as you Japanese. That is why our aroma will drive you wild. I have a G-cup breast and will play touchy feely if you buy fast."
While another message supposed to be from a 20-year-old German woman reads:
"I am a student from Germany, the land famous for Mercedes Benz and BMW. I am blonde and I will also give you a present of my other hair that is blonde. I will take off my panties in front of you if you like. If you are my type, you may even get a kiss."
Hanashi no Channel claims the foreign sellers have asking prices that range from 3,000 yen to 5,000 yen a pair, about the same rate as their Japanese schoolgirl counterparts. It adds that the girls appear to have had some help from the locals because all of their ads are written in flawless Japanese and touch on topics likely to appeal to male buyers. Many speak highly of the business acumen showed by the gaijin skanky skiv sellers.
"Like myself, many people obsessed by soiled panties have started buying gaijin goods. Of course a blonde is worth more than a schoolgirl. They don't look down on us and always smile. I've got a feeling foreign students are going to give Japanese schoolgirls a run for their money when it comes to dominance of the market," a 30- year-old government official tells Hanashi no Channel.
A reporter for the bi-weekly contacts Katherine, the American girl who advertised her undergarments, and arranges a sale. He is impressed by the sultry manner in which she removes her L-size red lace knickers and immediately takes a whiff. Equating the "intense" odor of the undies with one it would take the average Japanese schoolgirl needs three days to build up, the hack adds that while the smell of Japanese panties is said to be like dried cuttlefish, Americans clearly resemble cheese. Katherine, the American putrid pantaloon pusher, has no qualms about her chosen profession while studying in Japan.
"My part-time job hours have been cut back and my panties are an easy way to make money," she tells Hanashi no Channel. "Of course, it's even quicker if I sell what's in them. It's not just me. All my foreign student friends are in on this business."
