Foreign sex workers get dirty digging for Japanese roots 2006,01,20

Gentlemen may well prefer blondes, but Japan's not-so-gentle men seem to, as well, sparking a rapid increase in the number of South American sex workers with more yam than Yamato running through their veins to claim Japanese heritage, according to Spa! (1/24).
Foreign descendants of Japanese are given easy access to this country, with long-term visas handed out according to background.
While tens of thousands of legitimate Japanese descendants have entered the country over the past couple of decades, loads of blonde-haired, blueeyed women, a large chunk of who are now working in the flesh trade, are also filing false claims to have roots in the Land of the Rising Sun.
"I came into the country on a fake Peruvian passport that said I was a sansei (a third generation Japanese emigrant).
I've even got a Japanese surname," a blonde Colombian working as a stripper at a bar in Tokyo's Roppongi tells Spa!
"I got the passport for 500,000 yen of a Colombian broker.
The price of the passport depends on how many generations removed from the original you choose to become."
The men's weekly estimates that roughly half the hundreds of South American streetwalkers prowling the dark alleys of entertainment districts in Japanese cities entered the country using dodgy passports that gave them a link to Japan.
Local demand for blonde, Caucasian sex industry workers has women flocking from all over the world.
"Nearly all the women working in strip bars come from Eastern Europe.
Women from countries like Russia and Romania enter on tourist visas and work as strippers right up until the time their visa runs out.
They create fake companies, which produce bogus travel plans for them, but as long as they have these things, they can get a visa no problems," a netherworld broker of foreign flesh tells Spa!
"Women from Balkan countries like the Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria and the former Yugoslavia don't even need a visa to get into Japan.
Lots of them are backpacker-types on their way to Thailand who drop by Japan and sell their bodies to make a bit of quick cash."
Also cashing in on the yen for flaxen locks are, apparently, Americans.
"With the crackdown on entertainer visas, there are staff shortages at lots of pubs that survive by having foreign women working there.
Operators of these places are increasingly turning their attention toward Americans," the broker tells Spa!
"With an American passport, they barely even check you at Immigration.
There are loads of cheap American women looking to make a fast buck in Japan.
And they can always help fill the hostess shortage."
