Schoolgirls hit skid row in panty-selling ventures 2004,05,21
Spa! 5/25 By Ryann Connell
Bloomer sellers, Japan's notorious purveyors of putrid panties, have seen their business wax and wane, but now savvy schoolgirls have gotten in on the act and are cutting out the middlemen, according to Spa! (5/25).
Growing numbers of young Japanese girls are bypassing outlets operated by burusera and instead going straight to the customer, advertising the sale of their skanky skids on the Internet or mobile phone bulletin board sites.
Sellers either mail their used undies to buyers, or agree to meet the men and remove them on the spot.
Each pair can command from 5,000 to 7,000 yen, with some girls even agreeing to added paid options of posing nude or performing lewd acts.
"I started when I was in the first year of junior high school. I saw a message on a singer's fan site advertising some undies for sale and thought I could pick up a bit of pocket money for myself by selling my own panties," Nana, a Tokyo high schoolgirl who runs a thriving knicker sales business in her spare time, tells Spa!
Simply advertising soiled undergarments offers no guarantee that they'll sell and there's considerable effort required on the part of the vendor.
"They'll tell me how many days they want the panties to have been worn and I'll wear them for that amount of time," Nana says.
"I never let them touch me, but I'll strip off for them if they pay. There was a really, really good-looking guy just recently who bought a pair of my school socks. I liked him so much, I ended up becoming his sex friend."
Moe, a classmate of Nana's and fellow hawker of briefs, is not quite as dedicated in her trade that skirts the bounds of legality.
"It's a bit much expecting me to wear the same undies for so long, so I just daub some vitamin-enriched yellow-colored perfume in them to make it look as though I've been wearing them for a long time," Moe tells Spa!
Neither of the girls feel particularly threatened by the latent danger of their chosen profession.
"I've never had anything to be frightened of until now," Moe says.
"But, I have to admit I wouldn't be surprised if somebody eventually did me over. There are risks involved in any sort of business."
